# ONIXEDIT

> ONIXEDIT builds ONIX metadata management software for the book industry. Publishers,
> distributors and aggregators use it to create, validate, convert, automate and distribute
> bibliographic and commercial metadata in ONIX 2.1, ONIX 3.0 and ONIX 3.1 to retailers,
> wholesalers and digital platforms worldwide.

ONIX (ONline Information EXchange) is the international XML standard the book trade uses to
exchange title metadata — descriptions, contributors, subjects, prices, rights, availability
and marketing assets. ONIXEDIT provides a desktop editor (ONIXEDIT Pro for Windows), a browser
based service (ONIXEDIT Cloud), an automation server (ONIXEDIT Server), and supporting tools for
conversion, splitting and storefront publishing.

The site is bilingual: every page exists in English under `/en-us/` and in Canadian French under
`/fr-ca/`. Replace the locale segment to reach the other version.
