Profiles
A profile is a reusable ONIX import and validation configuration: it tells ONIXEDIT Server how to read and validate an incoming ONIX feed. Each profile is tied to one ONIX version (2.1 or 3.0) and is the container for import rules, default values and custom validation rules. This page creates, renames and deletes profiles.

- Settings menu: Profiles. Route:
/preferences/profiles. - Visible to accounts with access to Preferences.
Screen overview
- Search — filters the list on the profile name half a second after you stop typing. The Actions selector next to it (Edit Import Rules, Edit Default Values, Edit CUSTOM Validation Rules, Edit Other Settings) is reserved for a later release (Coming soon).
- Add, Edit and Delete — the last two need a selected row.
- Table — a selector circle, the Name and the Version (ONIX2 or ONIX3). Pages of 15, 30 or 50 rows.
How to create a profile
- Click Add.
- Enter the Name (required — A profile name is required.).
- Choose the Version: ONIX 2.1 or ONIX 3.0 (the default).
- Click OK. The profile is saved immediately.
How to rename or delete a profile
- Click the circle at the start of the row to select it, then Edit, change the Name and click OK. The version cannot be changed.
- Select the row and click Delete, then confirm (Do you really want to delete this profile?).
Tips
- Every reload (search, save, delete) clears the selection, so Edit and Delete grey out again until you select a row.
- If the server refuses a deletion — for example because the profile is in use — the page reports Failed to save settings.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change a profile from ONIX 2.1 to ONIX 3.0?
No. The version is chosen when the profile is created and cannot be changed afterwards; create a new profile instead.
Why does the Version column show "ONIX3" instead of "ONIX 3.0"?
The table shows the stored version code. The friendly names appear in the dialog when you create a profile.
Where are the import rules, default values and validation rules?
They are not available in the Dashboard yet. The Actions selector that will hold them is marked Coming soon; keep using the previous Preferences application for them.
