Publishers
The Publishers page is the directory of the publishing houses and imprints whose titles you manage: one record per publisher with its name, contact details and trade identifiers (SAN, SAP). Titles and ONIX output reference these records, so keeping them accurate keeps your feeds correct.
Where to find it
- Settings menu: Publishers. Route:
/preferences/publishers. - Visible to accounts with access to Preferences.
Screen overview
- Search — queries the server on the publisher name half a second after you stop typing.
- Add, Edit and Delete — the last two need a selected row.
- Table — a radio button and the Name; 50 rows per page, with the total shown as x to y of n.
How to add or edit a publisher
- Click Add, or select a row and click Edit.
- On the General tab, fill in the Name and the Contact name (both required — A publisher name is required. / A contact name is required.), and optionally Email, Phone, Fax, SAN and SAP.
- Click OK. The record is saved immediately.
The Attributes and Class of Trade tabs are disabled in this release; their existing values are kept untouched.
How to delete a publisher
Select the row, click Delete and confirm (Do you really want to delete this publisher?).
Tips
- Every save or deletion reloads the current page and clears the selection.
Frequently asked questions
Why are the Attributes and Class of Trade tabs greyed out?
They are not available in the Dashboard yet. Their values are preserved when you edit the General tab; use the previous Preferences application to change them.
Can two publishers have the same name?
Nothing in the Dashboard prevents it, so check the list before adding a publisher.
Is the Email field validated?
No. It is stored as typed.
