The title list
The title list is the home screen of ONIXEDIT Cloud: the titles of the current catalogue, one per row, with the columns of the selected view (cloud list). From here you search, select, open, duplicate and delete titles, follow their validation status and launch the bulk actions of the Actions menu. This page covers the screen itself; views, searching and actions have their own pages.
Where to find it
- After you sign in, ONIXEDIT Cloud opens the list of the first catalogue of your account (catalogues are sorted by name). The address is
/2.1/catalogue/<id>for an ONIX 2.1 catalogue and/3.0/catalogue/<id>for an ONIX 3.0 catalogue; the catalogue selector of the top bar switches between them. - Everybody with access to the catalogue sees the list. The row buttons depend on your rights: Info needs Read, View appears with Read but no Modify, Edit needs Modify, Duplicate needs Add and Delete needs Delete. Add new title also needs Add.
- Manage ONIX 3 Options, in the header of the actions column, appears only on an ONIX 3.0 catalogue of a Cloud account.
Screen overview
- View — the view (cloud list) that decides the columns; the pencil edits your own views. See Views (cloud lists).
- Fulltext search in products — three characters or more, then Enter. See Searching titles.
- Actions — the bulk actions. See Actions on titles.
- The buttons — Clear selection and Show selected products (while titles are selected), Advanced Search, Add new title, Refresh product list, A-Z and the red Clear all searches cross when a search is active.
- The table header — the selection checkbox, the columns of the view, one column per validation format, the ONIX column and the row actions.
- The validation score — the share of valid titles in the catalogue, with the Valid products / Invalid products / All products filters.
- The paginator — Page size (10 to 500), the current range and the page arrows.
How to read the columns
- The built-in Default view shows the cover, Ref, Title, ISBN13/EAN, Product Form, Authors and Subjects; other views show the columns you chose. Coded fields display the label of the ONIX code.
- The cover column shows the first image of the title, a placeholder when there is none, and a spinning icon (Processing Thumbnail) while the server prepares the thumbnail of a file you just uploaded or imported.
- One column per validation format enabled on the catalogue precedes the ONIX column. An orange warning icon (This product has not been validated yet!) means the title was never validated or was modified since; a green check means the last validation found no error (tooltip Last validation date: and the date); a red report icon means it found errors (the tooltip adds Errors: and the count).
- A locked title shows a padlock in the ONIX column and an orange row. See Locked titles and rights.
- When nothing matches, the table shows No title found.
How to sort and resize columns
- Click a sortable header once for ascending, again for descending, a third time to remove the sort.
- Drag the right edge of a header to resize the column.
- On the hosted platform the list opens sorted by Title; a view with its own sort uses that instead. Every new search goes back to the default sort.
How to select titles
- Tick the checkbox of a row to select or unselect the title.
- Click the header checkbox to select the whole page. While the selection is partial, it opens a menu with Unselect all and Select current page; when every title of the list is selected, it clears the selection.
- Change page or search again: the selection is kept until you clear it, switch catalogue or sign out.
- Show selected products lists only the selected titles (the button then reads Show all products) and replaces the active searches.
- Clear selection (the count is in brackets) asks Do you really want to clear current selection of products? and also clears the current searches.
How to open, duplicate or delete a title
- Info opens the title info dialog.
- Edit (or View when you may only read) opens the entry form; double-clicking the row does the same.
- Duplicate opens the entry form on a copy; nothing is stored until you save it.
- Delete asks Are you sure to delete this product?. The button is disabled on a locked title.
How to filter on the validation score
The bar at the bottom left reads Validation score: with the percentage of valid titles in the whole catalogue, whatever search is active. Click it (or (Click here for options)) to reveal Valid products, Invalid products and All products. The filter applies on top of the current searches; any new search resets it to All products. The score is recomputed when you open the catalogue or press Refresh product list.
How to browse pages and get the exact count
- Choose the Page size: 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 or 500 titles (25 at first).
- Use the arrows to move between pages.
- For a large list the server stops counting at 1000 and the range reads of more than 1000. Click the + next to the paginator for the exact count. Every new search goes back to the fast, capped count.
How to see when a title was created or modified
Click Info on the row. The Title Info dialog shows ID:, Date Created (UTC):, Created By:, Date Last Modified (UTC):, Last Modified By:, Last Validation Date (UTC): and two Permalink fields — the metadata of the title as ONIX XML and as JSON. The icon next to each one opens it in a new tab.
How to browse by first letter
Click A-Z (tooltip Index). Pick a letter, @ for titles starting with a digit or a symbol, or the star (Show All) to remove the filter. The index combines with the other searches.

Tips
Narrow screens
Between 960 and 1919 px the toolbar buttons show their icon only; hover them for the label. Below 960 px the toolbar folds into a Filter / Search / Actions panel that also holds the catalogue selector and a compact validation score.
Refresh after background tasks
Imports, bulk deletions and validations run on the server. Press Refresh product list when the list looks out of date; after an import ONIXEDIT Cloud proposes the refresh itself.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the paginator say "of more than 1000" instead of the real number of titles?
Counting a large result set is expensive, so the server stops counting at 1000. Click the "+" next to the paginator to request the exact count for the current list.
Why do I see a View button instead of Edit?
You have the Read right but not the Modify right on this catalogue. View opens the title in the entry form without letting you save it.
Do my selected titles stay selected when I change page or search?
Yes. The selection is kept while you browse pages, search and filter, until you clear it, switch catalogue or sign out. Clearing the selection also clears the current search.
What does the orange warning icon in the ONIX column mean?
The title has never been validated, or it was modified after its last validation. Open it in the entry form or run a validation to refresh the status.
Why is a row highlighted in orange with a padlock?
The title is locked. Its Delete button is disabled and only the fields allowed by the lock profile can be edited.
