The workspace
Everything in ONIXEDIT Cloud opens from one top bar: the catalogue selector on the left and, on the right, the Media Space gauge, Settings, comments, uploads, tasks, Help, Language and Logout. This page explains each control, who sees it and what it does; the title list below the bar has its own page.
Where to find it
The top bar is present on every screen once you are signed in; below 960 px its icons move into a side panel. Some entries exist for certain accounts only:

Screen overview
- Catalogue selector — the catalogue whose titles are listed, with its ONIX version.
- Media Space — how full your media space is, and the actions to free up or buy space.
- Settings — the Bookstore, ONIX 3.0, password, subscription and users dialogs.
- Notifications — the background tasks and their result files.
- Help — the link to this manual and the help-fields toggle.
- Language — the interface language and the language of the ONIX code lists.
- Logout — signs you out.
The Leave a comment icon sits right of Settings; the uploads icon appears left of Notifications only while files are being uploaded.
How to move between catalogues
- Open the Catalogue: selector. Each entry reads name (ONIX 2.1) or name (ONIX 3).
- Pick a catalogue: its title list opens.
The selector is disabled while a title is open in the entry form; the ONIXEDIT Cloud logo then returns to the title list once the Confirmation dialog — Are you sure you want to leave ? All unsaved progress will be lost. — is answered Yes.
How to read the Media Space gauge
The Media Space icon is coloured by how full your space is: normal below 75 % used, orange above, red from 95 %. Its menu shows:
of used, in MB or GB, with the percentage and a progress bar, refreshed each time the menu opens.- Buy extra media space — the purchase page of the ONIXEDIT website, already signed in (owner of a Cloud account only).
- Manage media space — the Media Space application, in a new tab, where files are listed and deleted (account owner only).
- Instead of the buttons, a user who is not the owner reads Contact your account administrator to free up or buy more media space.; the owner of a Server Edition account reads Contact ONIXEDIT to purchase additional media space for your account..

How to use the Settings menu

How to send a comment to ONIXEDIT
Click the Leave a comment icon, type your message in Your comment/suggestion and click Send my comment; Thanks for your comment! confirms it was received.
How to follow file uploads
While media files picked in the entry form are being sent, the Uploading files icon appears left of Notifications (File upload(s) completed once every file is through). Its menu lists each file with its progress and the actions Pause this upload, Resume this upload, Cancel this upload and Clear this upload; Clear all finished uploads empties the finished entries.
How to follow background tasks and notifications
Imports, exports, reports, error lists and transmissions run on the server as tasks. The Notifications icon summarises them — a clock while a task is queued, a spinning arrow while one runs, an alert when one failed — and its badge counts the tasks finished since you last opened the menu. The list refreshes every ten seconds; when an import into the current catalogue finishes, the title list reloads by itself.
Each row shows the date, the task type, its file and a status icon:

- Click the file name to download the result; the link stays until the task is deleted.
- A failed task reads An unexpected error occurred: click More Details to open the Error Details dialog. Warnings show inline, or as Multiple errors occurred with the same link.
- The bin icon (Delete task) removes a finished task — a queued one asks Do you really want to delete this scheduled task? — and the cross icon (Cancel task) stops a running task after Do you really want to cancel this task?. Bookstore transmissions cannot be cancelled.
- Clear all tasks notifications removes every finished task; queued and running ones stay. An empty list reads No task notification at this time.

How to get help
- Go to documentation opens, in a new tab, the page of this manual matching the screen you are on, in your interface language.
- Show help fields displays under every field of the entry form the description of its ONIX element; the setting is remembered in your browser — see Fields and help.
Language menu
- Interface — English, Español, Français or Português for menus, dialogs and messages, stored in your browser. Translate ONIX Tags, in the same sub-menu, is ticked by default and shows the ONIX tag names of the entry form in the interface language; untick it to keep the English tag names next to a translated interface. It is greyed out while the interface is English (see Fields and help).
- Lists — the language of the ONIX code lists in drop-downs and in the title list: English, Español, Français, Norsk or Português, independent from the interface language.
The side panel on narrow screens
Below 960 px the menu button opens a side panel with Back to ONIXEDIT Cloud classic (when available), Leave a comment, Help, Language (the same Interface and Lists choices as the top bar) and Logout. The catalogue selector moves into the Filter / Search / Actions panel at the top of the title list. Background tasks and uploads are followed from the top bar: widen the window to open the Notifications menu.
Tips
The overlay that blocks the screen
While a title loads, is validated, uploads its files or is saved, a full-screen overlay (Loading product from database..., Checking product for validation error..., Uploading files to server..., Saving product in database...) blocks the page. Wait for it to disappear rather than reload the browser.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I download the file of an export or a report?
Open the Notifications menu of the top bar. Each finished export, report or error list shows its file name as a link; click it to download the file.
Why do I not see My Subscription or Manage Users in the Settings menu?
Those entries are shown to the account owner of a Cloud subscription only. Users created in Manage Users, Server Edition and on-premises accounts do not see them.
Why is the Media Space icon orange or red?
It turns orange when more than 75% of your media space is used and red at 95%. Open the menu to see the figures and free up or buy space before uploads start failing.
Does the task list refresh by itself?
Yes. ONIXEDIT Cloud polls the server every ten seconds; the badge on the Notifications icon counts the tasks that finished since you last opened the menu.
What is the difference between the Interface and Lists languages?
Interface is the language of menus and messages. Lists is the language of the ONIX code lists shown in drop-downs, and it offers Norwegian in addition to the four interface languages.
