With the release of ONIXEDIT 3.0 in December 2012, we have reached an important milestone. We worked hard for more than 2 years to give you the most intuitive and efficient ONIX 3.0 software of the industry. Now that it is done, look at the nice new features we have for you:
Same convenient form with the simplified interface
Whether you want to edit an ONIX 2.1 or ONIX 3.0 title using the simplified form, you will get the same useful and intuitive interface that you are already used to:
Moreover, the Simplified Interface now provides sections to define Prizes and Websites:
As well, you can now define many Supply Detail composites and many prices in the Simplified Interface:
A brand new advanced form adapted to ONIX 3.0 standard
ONIXEDIT Pro now provide 2 distinct Advanced Interfaces, one for each ONIX 2.1 or 3.0 standard. Each form is perfectly adapted to match the corresponding ONIX model you are working with. The ONIX 3.0 Advanced Interface supports the new "blocks" concept of ONIX 3.0 allowing production of lighter metadata files.
As well, you can now set Attributes like DateStamp or Text Format on any ONIX 3.0 tags or composites:
ONIXEDIT now supports the new international classification system for books Thema (visit
www.panthema.org for details) in the Advanced Interface for both ONIX 2.1 and ONIX 3.0:
For each Thema category, we provide the complete up to date list of hierarchical values that you can browse and search using the following dialogue:
Full proof your ONIX 3.0 files
One of the most appreciated features of ONIXEDIT is its genuine validation engine that help you find and fix ONIX validation errors such as missing mandatory values or contextual errors. With the ONIXEDIT 3.0 series, you will get one of the most powerful ONIX 3.0 validation tool on the market. With the handy F8 key, you will be able to browse and fix each ONIX 3.0 error:
Moreover, we did it again and this time, we implemented all the official ONIX 3.0
Best Practice Guide written by Graham Bell at
EDItEUR. Consequently, if you activate the ONIX 3.0 Best Practice validation tool, every single ONIX 3.0 snags against the Best Practice Guide will be detected and reported.
You can now even export to Excel, a detailed Errors Report for your ONIX 2.1 or ONIX 3.0 files:
I want to upgrade my ONIX 2.1 file to ONIX 3.0, but how can I do?
With ONIXEDIT, it's easy as 1,2,3 with our unique embedded ONIX 2.1 to ONIX 3.0 converter:
- Step #1: Launch ONIXEDIT;
- Step #2: Click on the Converter link
- Step #3: Select your ONIX 2.1 file.
Et voilà! ONIXEDIT will make a copy of your ONIX 2.1 file and automatically convert it to its equivalent ONIX 3.0 file.
Miscellaneous new features.
Along all the improvements we made on ONIXEDIT 3.x serie, 2 new features will certainly be well received:
- The Flat file import module can now deal with multiple values with a specific character separator in a single column. As an example, ONIXEDIT will create 3 contributors when importing a column having "Twain, Mark|Miller, Henry|Frost, Robert" if the character separator is defined as "|" in the import script.
- You can now transmit a copy of your cover images at the same time as your ONIX file to your trading partners. You can even define the partner's settings to automatically rename your cover images with your Record Reference, ISBN or EAN and add prefix and suffix to it as well.
